Wonders never cease happening at Fortebet! Uganda’s betting history was on Thursday night rewritten after registering another historical win. With only 9 (match) selections, this becomes the first Ugandan bettor to win a record 405 million Uganda shillings. Another wonder about this win is that this winner needed only three hours of waiting to become a historical millionaire, as all the matches were played with in the three hours.

But, how was this win possible with only 9 match selections? The answer to this question is what makes this win historical! Well, this spectacular ticket was comprised of only incredible odds, as high as 5.70.

This money was handed over to the winner (names withheld on his request) at Kololo Fortebet head office.

“This is not the first time I placed a bet. I have been trying, though unsuccessful. However, I kept my hopes alive until my dream has come true,” he said shortly after receiving his money, adding that, “I am going to build my dream residential house and car.”

Handing over the money on behalf of Fortebet, David Ssendagire, the company’s accountant said, “What we (Fortebet) say is what we do. We say when you win, we pay. Yesterday he won, today we have paid him. If you have not yet won, please just keep trying, your lucky ticket will come one time just like his came yesterday.”

The 405M Ticket

This winner went for four home wins, three away wins and two draws then placed his bet. The ticket was as follows; Championship’s Millwal-Bristol City (selected 2, Odd 2.37, ended 1:2), two matches from English League One-Fleetwood-Sunderland (selected 1, odd 4.30, ended 2:1) and Portsmouth-Peterborough (selected 2, odd 5.70, ended 2:3). He then made two selections from English League Two; Newport-Oldham (selection 1, odd 1.63, ended 2:0) and Tranmere-Bury (selected X, odd 3.20, ended 1:1). He added on two none-most likely selections. These included; Montpelier-PSG (selected 1, odd 4.15, ended 3:2) and Tottenham-Ajax (selected 2, odd 3.55, ended 0:1). He was not yet satisfied with the likely win. So, he went to Finland Veikkausliiga and made his last two selections; SJK-KPV Kokkola (selected 1, odd 1.75, ended 1:0) and lastly Laths-VPS (selected X, odd 3.05, ended 1:1)
