Uganda Cup Round of 16 Return Legs
Tuesday, 04-05-2020
-SC Villa vs Onduparaka FC @3:30pm
-URA FC vs Express FC @4pm
-Tooro United vs Wakiso Giants FC @4pm

URA FC and Express FC will face off for the fourth and final time this season on Tuesday at the Arena of Visions in Ndejje.

The two sides are both hoping to win a league and Cup double this season but one of them will have to see that dream end at the final whistle of the contest.

URA sit top of the league standings with a one point advantage but face a task of overturning a 2-1 deficit if they are to reach the last 8 in the cup.

Sam Simbwa’s side who are odds-on favourites to win the league have already lost three times to Express and will be concerned as they seek to win their first cup crown since 2014.

With both Steven Mukwala and Cromwel Rwothomio, their two top scorers this season, they need Ibrahim Dada and captain Shafiq Kagimu to step up if they are to see their Hope’s of a double stay alive. Goalkeeper Alionzi Nafian did not travel with the team so Hannington Ssebwalunyo is expected to start.

The away goal they got in the first leg may prove to be vital but only if they can score again and somehow shut out the Red Eagles, something that they have failed to do so far this season.

For Express, they only need to avoid defeat to stay on course to win a first cup since 2006 and an 11th overall.

Their last title of any kind came in 12 when Simbwa led them to the league crown.

They currently sit four points behind URA FC and are very much in the thick of things should both the Tax Collectors and Vipers slip up in the last nine league games.

The Red Eagles are full of confidence in terms of getting the job done on Monday after winning all of their last three games against URA.

However, they must know how good URA have been this season and need to be worry of the threat the Tax Collectors are capable of pausing.

Wasswa Bbosa’s side will still be without the injured trio of Abel Etrude, Arthur Kiggundu and George Ssenkaba but Isa Lumu returns from a fever.

At Bombo, SC Villa will be out to get the job done when they host Onduparaka FC.

The Jofoos put themselves in a good position after winning the first leg away in Arua 1-0 thanks to a late Faizo Kazibwe goal.

They now need to avoid defeat as seal a spot in the last eight.

The game finds Onduparaka at a time when they cannot win a game of football, if we are to go with their current form.

The fans are already plotting for a massive boycott against head coach Joseph Mutyaba while some players are rumoured to be walking out due to salary arrears.

There are relevant scenarios at Villa as well, as fans have already expressed their discontent with the direction the club is taking after going some good games without tasting a league win.

The Uganda Cup presents Villa a realistic chance of a silverware this season and a win will take the club closer to achieving that dream.

In the other game, Tooro United are attempting to pull of a major upset as they host Wakiso Giants FC at Buhinga Stadium.

Wakiso won the first leg 5-1 and it will take a major dramatic turn of events for them not to feature in the last eight.
