Ahead of the 2020/2021 football season, Uganda Premier League side Express FC have added an eleventh signing to their side in the shape of defensive midfielder Byamukama John.

Byamukama, 23 joins the Red Eagles from Tooro United on a two year deal which also reunites him with head coach Wasswa Bossa.

Byamukama was swept away with the fact that he’s now a Red Eagle but has set his personal roles and targets ahead of the new season anticipated to kickoff on October 17 this year.

“We all know Express FC is a historical club, I have joined the club to win titles and as a defensive midfielder, my role is to protect the back four which I will gladly do when given the opportunity,” Byamukama told the club website hoping to bring silverware to the club’s trophy cabinet.

Byamukama brings a vast ray of experience to the team having spent the previous two seasons at Tooro United. The 2018/2019 season saw him managing two assists and a goal in 15 games but that changed a season later adding three more games where he managed four assists and two goals.

Byamukama becomes the latest addition to Express after earlier arrivals of; goalkeepers Cryspus Kusiima and Denis Otim along with center-back Richard Bbosa, midfielders Mahad Yaya Kakooza, Lwesibawa Godfrey, Abel Eturude, Ivan Nsengiyunva, winger Baker Sakah and forwards Musiige Charles and Kiragga Mustafa.
