Uganda Premier League side Express FC have confirmed the appointment of Morley Byekwaso as the club’s new head coach ahead of the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season.
Byekwaso takes over from Jimmy Kintu, who recently departed the club to join URA FC. The experienced tactician was officially unveiled by the Red Eagles as they prepare for the new campaign.
A former Uganda Cranes CHAN team coach, Byekwaso brings extensive experience to the role, having previously managed KCCA FC, SC Villa and SC Victoria University. He also enjoyed a spell as an Express player during the mid-2000s.
The 2026/27 appointment marks Byekwaso’s return to coaching after leaving SC Villa at the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.
Speaking during his unveiling, Byekwaso expressed his excitement about the challenge ahead.

Express have also strengthened their technical bench with the appointment of experienced coach Edward Kaziba as assistant coach. Kaziba returns to top-flight football after several years away from the Uganda Premier League.
The club will be hoping the new coaching team can guide Express to improved performances after finishing 10th in the 2025/26 league standings with 37 points.
