FUFA has confirmed Abdallah Mubiru as the new interim Uganda Cranes Head coach
Mubiru is tasked to guide Uganda at the coming CHAN qualifiers, a tournament played by locally based players playing in their local domestic.
FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo told the press on Wednesday that the job is still open for all Ugandans and foreigners to apply.
Mubiru, who was in charge of the CHAN that partook in this year’s Cosafa Cup tournament in South Africa in May, will be assisted by Livingston Mbabazi, Sadiq Wasswa and Geoffrey Massa who he worked with at Cosafa where Uganda played as a guest team.
Uganda will face Somalia in the CHAN qualifiers; with the first leg in Mogadishu between July 26-28 prior to the return leg in Kampala between August 2-4.
The winner between Uganda and Somalia over two legs will face the victor between Burundi and South Sudan in second round.
