The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Judicial Bodies convened on Tuesday for a comprehensive meeting with FUFA President Hon. Magogo Moses Hassim. The focus was on evaluating the handling of judicial matters throughout the 2023/24 season, aligning with FUFA’s vision and mission.
The meeting saw participation from key FUFA officials including Executive Committee Member and Executive Secretary-Governance Sam Mpiima, CEO Edgar Watson, Judicial Commission Chairperson Dr. Azah Taib, and Deputy CEO-Governance Sam Bakiika. Legal personnel such as Legal Manager Denis Lukambi, Legal Officer Sheba Ampaire, and Legal Assistant Kevin Aijuka were also present.
Reflecting on the past season, the discussion centered on enhancing decision-making processes to ensure swift and fair justice for all stakeholders. FUFA President Magogo commended the judicial bodies for their dedication to maintaining integrity within the sport.
“The judicial processes at FUFA have been exemplary. I extend my gratitude to all involved for their efforts in upholding the purity of the game,” Magogo stated. He also acknowledged the contributions of the FUFA Legal Office under Denis Lukambi.
Magogo emphasized the importance of fair play in football, identifying match-fixing and hooliganism as major challenges. He assured that FUFA is committed to combating these issues through strict regulations and sanctions.
Sam Mpiima highlighted FUFA’s ongoing support for judicial activities aimed at educating stakeholders on judicial procedures. Dr. Azah Taib stressed the importance of building trust in the judicial system through continued sensitization of clubs and stakeholders.
An innovative shift is on the horizon, with FUFA set to pilot an online system for judicial processes starting in the 2024/25 season, moving away from manual case filings.
FUFA Legal Manager Lukambi noted a decrease in cases this past season, attributing it to better awareness among players, referees, and club officials regarding complaint submission processes.

- Transition to an online system for judicial processes in the 2024/25 season.
