TOTAL Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2021

November 13

Burkina Faso vs Uganda Cranes, Ouagadougou (10pm)

November 17

Uganda vs Malawi, Namboole – 4pm

Fee: Shs20k, 50k, 120k

Uganda Cranes will charter Uganda Airlines Bombardier to Burkina Faso from Entebe International Airport on November 12 and will return on November 14, 2019 immediately after the game. Thirty (30) Air tickets have been reserved for the fans.

FUFA launched the campaign for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) at the FUFA Headquarters in Kampala on Wednesday. The campaign has been code named “366 Back to Namboole with Cranes” because when Uganda Cranes host Malawi in the first home match at the Namboole stadium on November 17, it will exactly be 366 days since the Cranes won 1-0 over Cape Verde to book a successive berth back to the AFCON. “Therefore, this campaign name was derived from the fact that it will be exactly 366 days since the Cranes last played at home,” Ag. FUFA President Justus Mugisha noted.

The campaign kick starts away from home in West Africa (Ouagadougou) against Burkina Faso next month on November 13 before hosting Malawi on November 17. Given the time span between the two games, FUFA has confirmed a chartered flight courtesy of the Uganda Airlines.

The chartered flight will depart Entebe International Airport on October 12 for the match on November 13 and return on the November 14. “We are very grateful to the Government of Uganda for support and our sponsors Airtel Uganda, BIDCO, NIC, Nile Breweries Limited, Eco Bank and Uganda Tourism Board. “We know the value of this campaign. When we win, we give our fans happiness. We shall give the coach Jonathan McKinstry maximum support. FUFA has financed a chartered flight. We have reserved 30 seats or fans who wish to travel at a fee of $1500 per head catering for one night full board accommodation with access to the stadium,” noted Mugisha. McKinstry believes he has gathered good information about players and our opponents in the three weeks he has been around since his appointment.

“Traveling to Ouagagadou with a chartered flight by federation is a very great stride. This will be great assistance to travel to West Africa. It is expected to a very difficult game for us but Uganda Cranes away record has improved,” noted McKinstry. Early bird tickets against Malawi will cost Shs15,000 and school going children organized in groups will each pay Shs10,000.
