FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel (CDP) has warned KCCA and URA over fans hooliganism. This follows circumstances reported in the match between the two sides on January 31 at the Arena of visions in Ndejje.

It is said that KCCA fans started up chaos in an attempt to enter the Stadium only to be contained by Police. CPD ruled that KCCA fans were angered by a provocative URA FC coach Sam Ssimbwa at the final whistle who was celebrating a 2-1 win.

“The CDP in considering the case took into account the KCCA FC previous record and the situation leading up to the incident. Accordingly, the competitions disciplinary panel hereby warns KCCA FC against future incidents and is encouraged to prevail over its fans.” KCCA FC through its fans committee took action against the fans who were involved in the incident.

KCCA FC was represented by club CEO Anisha Muhoozi while URA was represented by CEO Bridget Nakayenga. In the same way CDP has banned SC Villa fan James Lutaaya due to hooliganism.

The panel found Lutaaya guilty of leading a group of Villa fans who went ahead and beat URA FC player Michael Birungi Komunda and others after the match. The ugly incidents happened at January 7 at the Arena of Visions in Bombo as URA FC beat SC Villa 2-0 courtesy Birungi and Daniel Isiagi goals.

“The CDP in considering the case took into account the steps and actions that have been implemented by SC Villa. Accordingly, the Competitions Disciplinary Panel hereby; CONFIRMS the ban issued on Lutaaya James by SC Villa – Lutaaya James is banned from attending all SC Villa (home and away) matches for the remainder of the season,” reads the ruling.

UPL has it that SC Villa has since taken action against Lutaaya James by banning him from all its home and away matches for the remainder of the season. Birungi, who escaped punishment, had scored the second, celebrated with keep quite gesture which did not go well with Jogoos fans.
