Step by Step boxing promotion company has introduced an exciting feature in Uganda’s professional boxing after the company confirmed a fight night on one of the streets in Kampala.

Kasumali

Boxing on the street is something new in Uganda after the common street (music) jams.

Ladies’ man Moses Golola will take on Ongom Kizito Kasumali in the non title bout due June 9 (Heroes Day) night.

The fight will be staged in the middle of Wilson Street in the heart of Kampala City.

In a special press briefing at Wilson Street on Thursday, work came at standstill as the two light heavy fighters almost exchanged punches before the fight night dubbed ‘the unfinished business’.

Golola asked Kasumali to first take thorough medical checkup before risking fighting him. “I want him (Kasumali) to be checked whether he is in his right mental state; otherwise he could not have risked fighting the one man’s army,” noted Golola, who trains at his gym in Kawempe. For Kasumali, who comes from a three-year sabbatical, it is an opportunity to send Golola to retirement. “To prove it, I will send him to retirement with a knockout,” vowed Kasumali, who trains at Powerflex gym. Eddie Gombya, the Step by Step promotions boss confirmed that he had gotten clearance from both KCCA and Police for venue whilst Uganda professional boxing commission (UPBC) sanctioning the much anticipated fight night.  “The fight is unique and I will be the first to enter. Traffic will be controlled while security will be tight before, during and after the fight. I call upon boxing lovers to come and experience something new,” noted Salim Uhuru, the UPBC president. The fight night will also have over five exciting under card bouts.
