Participants of the Development of National Structures and Systems (DNSS) coaching and umpiring courses who live in Central Uganda (notably Kampala and Wakiso) will receive their package this Friday at the National Hockey Stadium in Lugogo.

According to the project (DNSS) National Coordinator Vincent Arnold Kasasa, the package includes; certificate, notebook, manual books and a Polo shirt.

Masaka Region region will receive their package on Thursday Sept 17th 2 p.m at St Charles Lwanga Kasasa,
Mbarara and far west region willl get theirs on Friday Sept 18th 10 a.m at Ntare School, Eastern region will receive theirs on Wednesday  Sept 23rd 10 a.m at Mbale SSS, while Northern region will get theirs on Sunday Sept 27th 10 a.m at Sir Samuel Baker in Gulu.

The DNSS project courses that were done online and run by Uganda Hockey Association (UHA) alongside experts of the game and those in Olympic Sports governance way back in July saw 125 individuals fully take part in various sessions in either coaching or umpiring.

The participants qualified for the award of Level 1 International Hockey Federation (FIH) endorsed certificates in either coaching or umpiring.

The qualification will allow the 125 persons to coach or officiate matches at community, schools and club level.

The courses in question are the icebreakers for the entire one-year DNSS project worth thirty-one thousand, five hundred (31,500) US Dollars, with the main objective to take hockey to all the regions (Western, Eastern, Northern and Central) of Uganda; as well as supporting in the development of national structures and systems as the project’s name suggests.

For starters, DNSS project was granted to Uganda Hockey Association (UHA) by the Olympic Solidarity through the Uganda Olympic Committee to develop national structures and systems.
