I Didn’t Take A Lot Of Time To Adapt, Says Villa’s Ogwang

Forward Isaac Ogwang joined Uganda Premier League side SC Villa in the pre-season transfer window.

Ogwang was the club’s fourth signing of the window and throughout the pre-season the forward showed he was ready to hit league football like a storm.

After his arrival to the record league winners side, Ogwang says that it took him a very short stint to settle at his new home and also adapt to its system.

“I didn’t take a lot of time to adapt  because most of the faces I found at Villa Park were familiar. I had earlier played with them in junior setups and non-league football,” Ogwang told the club website.

Ogwang who previously had stints with Spartans 09 and Kampala Junior Team (KJT) in the Kampala Regional League joined Villa in the midst of COVID-19 but says that the pandemic didn’t affect him that much.

“The pandemic has only had positive impacts on my football career. It is in 2020  that I  joined top flight football in Uganda, it is a progress in my career,” Ogwang, a 20-year old student at St Lawrence University said.

Christened as “Falcao,” Ogwang has netted two goals for Villa, all against Mbarara City, in a league match he claimed man of the match honors.

“It was an amazing moment for me as striker to be on the scoresheet and I was also very happy for collective hard work from the team to help me score and win the Man of The Man Award. I hope to build on that and score more goals for my team,” Ogwang who wears jersey number 11 added.

Ahead of league restart, Ogwang now looks forward to scoring more goals for his club and help it win silverware.

The league is scheduled to return in February 2021 due to the CHAN tournament set to take place in Cameroon.
