- With the Uganda Premier League (UPL) currently under recess following the conclusion of the first round of proceedings, Express FC forward Erick Kenzo Kambale says that he is looking forward to scoring more goals when action returns next month.
The 21-year-old who has had a quiet start to the first round of the league but says he is optimistic about reaching double figures when the second round gets underway.
“I know I didn’t have a great start to the season like I expected to, partly because of fatigue because we had a long draining season but I am happy I’ve managed to score some so far. It motivates me more and I am optimistic I’ll hit double figures when we resume from next month,” kambale told the club website.
Kambale says Express should now aim at defending the league title knowing that it won’t be an easy walk in the park.
“We all know we need to defend the league but as you now know, all teams are well prepared and we shall have to dig deep but I am confident the boys’ resilience will see us through,” kambale added.
Kambale who has picked up the Yellow card club player of the month back to back managed six league goals and as many assists in the fifteen league games played.
The Red Eagles sit 3rd on the log on 27 points and begin their UPL second round with an away fixture against Soltilo Bright Stars FC at the Kavuma Recreation Grounds.
