Uganda Premier League side KCCA FC have strengthened their midfield ahead of the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season with the signing of experienced defensive midfielder Yunus Sibira on a two-year contract.
The 29-year-old joins the Kasasiro Boys from Kitara FC, where he established himself as one of the league’s most reliable midfielders through his commanding displays, tactical discipline, and ability to shield the backline.
Sibira arrives at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, bringing a wealth of experience gained from spells at BUL FC, Royal Leopards in Eswatini, Gaddafi FC, Mbarara City FC, and most recently Kitara FC. His consistency and ability to dictate the tempo of matches have earned him recognition as one of the Uganda Premier League’s standout defensive midfielders.
KCCA FC Head Coach Brian Ssenyondo welcomed the signing, describing Sibira as the ideal addition to strengthen the club’s midfield.
“Sibira is the profile of a midfielder we need. He brings a blend of physical power and good game reading. When you look at his numbers from last season, he consistently broke up plays and stabilized the tempo. He is the balance we need to dominate matches,” Ssenyondo said.
Speaking after signing his contract, Sibira expressed his excitement at joining one of Uganda’s most successful clubs and pledged his commitment to the team’s ambitions.
“I know the magnitude of KCCA FC. It is a club built on a rich history of winning, and I am proud to be here. I am coming to Lugogo to do what I do best: fight for the badge and give 100 percent. We have big ambitions, and I am ready to give everything for this club,” Sibira said.
The midfielder is expected to report immediately for pre-season training as KCCA FC continue preparations for the 2026/27 campaign.
