Uganda Premier League side Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) FC have pitched a training camp in Daresalaam, Tanzania ahead of the 2021/22 football season.

KCCA had travelled to Dar-es-salaam for the 2021 CECAFA Kagame Cup but failed to defend the title they won in 2019 after they were shown the exit at group stage level. After their elimination, a decision was reached by club management for the team to camp for one week in Dar-es-salaam.

According to the club website, the objective of the training camp is to build a stronger team bond, to slowly build fitness levels and gain match practice.

“We decided to continue our pre season in Daresalaam. The players have been introduced to workouts that can help them better their fitness levels,” Head Coach Morley Byekwaso told the club website.

“We are doing this with a team of professionals on the technical team and we shall take everything systematically. It is also important that the methods employed through pre-season continue through-out the season,” Byekwaso added.

KCCA FC will take part in a friendly game today, Friday 13th August in Dar-es-salaam.

The team is expected to return to Uganda on Sunday 15th August 2021.

However, Uganda Premier League title holders Express FC are in the CECAFA Kagame Cup final and will come up against Nyasa Big Bullets on Saturday, 14th August as they pursue their maiden regional championship.
