Patrick Kaddu scored a brace of penalties and another to complete his hat trick as Uganda beat Somalia 4-1 on Saturday at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo to progress to the 7-2 on aggregate to the next stage of the CHAN 2020 Cameroon qualifiers.

The KCCA FC striker, who also scored a penalty in the 3-1 first leg in Djibouti a week earlier, gave Uganda lead in the 3rd minute from the spot before his teammate Allan Kyambadde doubled lead in the 36th minute.

Kaddu netted his second eight minutes past half hour mark before completing his hat trick five minutes later to take his tally to four in the qualifiers.

Somalia pulled one back one back from Daud Abdullahi Tubai in the 88th minute after a lapse in Cranes defense coupled with poor goal keeping from Charles Lukwago.

“We have tried to manage the game though not the best way. We did not play under pressure after that early lead. I am happy with the players’ effort and we shall correct what we did not do right,” noted Abdullah Mubiru, the Cranes interim coach after the match.

Uganda will face the winner between Burundi and South Sudan who play this Sunday at the same StarTimes stadium, Lugogo at the next stage.
