On New Year Eve, FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel, FUFA Investigations Chamber and FUFA Referees Disciplinary Panel in a statement among others deducted two points and two goals off Onduparaka FC following violent scenes exhibited by the home fans during their side’s Uganda Premier League clash against KCCA FC on December 27 2021 at the Green Light Stadium, Arua.

The same missive said that the match that was abandoned when it was 2-2 be replayed in a neutral ground and organized by Onduparaka. Centre Referee Madanda has been suspended from officiating football at all levels until 30th June 2022 for unjustified poor officiation with some Onduparaka officials and players also facing the same fate.

However, in their response to FUFA’s verdict, KCCA FC have expressed their disappointment in the judgement urging that the decisions will not prevent violence incidents from happening especially in Arua.

“The decision of the FUFA CDP was received with…total shock and dismay at the callousness of the sanctions imposed on the abandoned match NO 101. These sanctions in effect not only set aside the rule book drafted and shared by the Federation (FA) but are also a pat on the back for perennial offenders and a reward to hooliganism by gifting clubs a second bite of the cherry,” part of the club missive released on Sunday read.

According to KCCA, it’s not first time they have faced the same problem (home fans violence) in Arua hence the FA should provide lasting solutions to the matter.

Recently, FUFA President Hon. Eng. Moses Magogo urged stakeholders of the game to protect it by desisting from acts such as violence and hooliganism.
