Uganda Premier League (UPL) side KCCA FC have parted ways with thier Head Coach Mike Mutebi. This development was confirmed on Monday in a club statement.
“KCCA FC and the Manager, Mike Hillary Mutebi have today, the 29th of March 2021 agreed by mutual consent to terminate his employment with immediate effect,” part of the club statement read.
Mutebi has guided KCCA to Three (03) League titles, Two (02) Uganda Cups, Four (04) Super Cups and One (01) CECAFA Clubs Cup over the last five years making him the most successful Manager in the Club’s history.
“The Club recognizes his immense contribution in making KCCA FC the leading Club in Uganda and wishes him well in his future endeavors,” another part of the statement read.
Uganda Hippos (U20 national team) tactician Morley Byekwaso takes charge of all first team duties at KCCA as the Interim Manager immediately.
Byekwaso’s major role will be to enable the team reclaim its domestic glory after the side dropped lots of points in the first round of the UPL.
With the second round of the league set to kick-off next month, KCCA are fourth on the table off 27 points, nine behind leaders URA FC.
