Paidha Black Angels, Nyamityobora and Ndejje University will play their last fixture in the premier before they go back to Big league to start their promotion journey afresh after just a season in top flight football.

The teams earned promotion this season and have all been relegated. Ahead of the final match, KCCA manager Mike Mutebi does not expect his charges to sleep on the job as he looks forward to an exciting crowning coupled with a win against Maroons.

“You do not expect us to relax. The league still on and we are still competition. There records to be broken you never know and we want to give fans moments to tell. We shall be as competitive as the first game of the season because we want to finish on the high. We want our fans to celebrate title with victory and I expect the best from the boys because we know that Maroons is bully side to us,” noted Mutebi, who credited the club’s 13th league title triumph to largely young players in the team –with exception of Mike Mutyaba, who has had a splendid campaign throughout.

KCCA, who beat Maroons 1-0 in the reverse fixture in Luzira, sealed off this season’s less competitive title after their 1-1 away draw at Ndejje University eleven days ago, thanks to Sadam Juma’s equaliser after coming on in the second stanza.

KCCA are now three titles behind record winners SC Villa who last lifted the title in 2004. By the time Jogoos made 16 titles, KCCA had only lifted a half of their total number of titles.

It is Mike Mutebi’s third title in his 4-year tenure as KCCA FC manager, but it is also the club’s fifth in the last seven seasons. Away from the pleasure of representing the country in the CAF Champions league next season, KCCA are also Shs60m rich in prize money courtesy of FUFA and league title sponsors StarTimes-Uganda.

FUFA announced Premier league total prize money at Shs128m in 2018 of the total Shs426m total cash prize for the ten FUFA Competitions.
