Pilsner Super 8 tournament Final

Sunday, August 24

KCCA vs Vipers SC

Defending champions KCCA FC will meet fierce rivals Vipers SC in the final of the 2019 Pilsner super 8 tournament final next Sunday, August 25 at a yet to be confirmed venue.

The much anticipated final will give the fans what to expect in the forthcoming new 2019/20 season that gets underway this month as the two sides are the favorites in race for the title.

KCCA, who beat Onduparaka last year in the inaugural final, beat the same side 3-1 on Friday at the Betway Muteesa II stadium, Wankulukuku to book a place at this year’s final. The Venoms beat Mbarara City in penalties in the other semi final.

The last time the two sides met at a final was in 2017/18 season when KCCA beat Vipers 1-0 in the Uganda Cup final in Bekedea before the reigning Uganda premier league champions also beat the Kitende-based side 4-2 in last September to win the third straight FUFA Super Cup final after barren normal time draw.

Both KCCA FC Manager Mike Mutebi and Vipers SC’s Edward Golola will look at the preseason glory to boost their side’s confidence ahead of the new season albeit KCCA winning the 2019 Cecafa Kagame Cup  last month.
