Miya Farouk continued with his goal-scoring form for his new Turkish club Konyaspor FC as he scored the only goal of the game for Konyaspor to beat Denizlispor 1-0 at Denizli Atatürk Stadium for their first win of the season.

The former Vipers SC play maker, who has become a mainstay in Aykut Kocaman’s team since joining the club from Croatian side HNK Gorica, netted the goal in the 54th minute of the game.

The goal is Miya’s third in four appearances for the club but his second in the league.

He scored his first goal for Konyaspor in a 2-2 draw with Antalyaspor in the league, his second came during the 3-0 win over Keciorengucu in a friendly game.

Awany on score sheet

Elsewhere, Timothy Denis Awany scored his first goal for Ashdod FC in a 2-2 draw against Hapoel Beer Sheva in Israeli Premier League on Sunday.

The Uganda Cranes defender opened up the scores at the Yud-Alef stadium in the second minute of the game with a cool finish from a corner kick.

Hapoel Beer Sheva leveled in the 21st minute through Nigel Hasselbaink, a nephew to former Dutch striker Jimmy Floyd.

Former Chelsea striker Ben Sahar made it 2-1 for Beer Sheva in 48th minute before Shlomi Yosef Azulay leveled matters four minutes later.

The draw took Ashdod FC to the 5th position with five points collected after five games played. The former KCCA skipper returns in action as his side visits Hapoel Ra’anana in their next league game this Sunday.

Mpande shines in Vietnam

Similarly, Joseph Mpande Mbolimbo was on target again as his Hai Phong drew 1-1 with Sanna Khan Hoa in the Vietnamese V-League. Mpande scored a curler with his right foot on the edge of the box in the 36th minute to cancel out Dao Van Phong’s early 20th minute goal to tie the game at 1-1. The former Vipers forward had previously scored the winner in Hai Phong’s 2-1 victory over Viettel FC before the international break. He will be in action on Friday as against Hoang Anh Gia Lai. Uganda’s Midfielder Moses Oloya was also part of Hai Noi who thrashed Viettel 5-2 to maintain their lead on the table. Godfrey Baba Kizito also played part in Sai Gon FC’s 3-1 victory over Hoang Anh Gia Lai on Saturday.
