Mubiru summons first squad as Cranes Coach

Abdullah Mubiru summoned his first squad as the interim Uganda Cranes coach on Friday, two days after being confirmed for the position by FUFA. Mubiru, who is also the Police FC Head Coach, summoned a 30-man squad to start preparations for the CHAN 2020 qualifiers double header against Somalia on July 27 and August 3 in Mogadishu and Kampala respectively.

The team will kick off non-residential training at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo on Sunday morning before entering residential training on July 18.

The Cranes will play a regional tour match against Kitara Region Select on July 20 in Hoima. The summoned squad has 5 goal keepers, 9 defenders, 12 midfielders and 4 strikers.

Goalkeepers: Lukwago Charles (KCCA), Alitho James (URA), Mugabi Yasin (Wakiso Giants), Keni Saidi (SC Villa), Mutakubya Joel (Kyetume)

Defenders: Willa Paul (Police), Mustafa Mujuzi (Proline), Kizza Mustafa (KCCA), Revita John (Express), Awany Timothy (KCCA), Mbowa Paul (URA), Galiwango Dissan (Express), Obenchan Filbert (KCCA FC), Mandela Ashraf (URA).

 Midfielders: Taddeo Lwanga (Vipers SC), Kasozi Nicolas (KCCA), Mutyaba Muzamir (KCCA), Masiko Tom (Vipers SC), Kagimu Shafiq (URA), Kayiwa Allan (Vipers SC), Okello Allan (KCCA), Kyambadde Allan (KCCA), Sadam Juma (KCCA), Owor David ( SC Villa), Ssozi Yusuf (Paidha Black Angels), Kigozi Samson Andrew (Kakiri Town Council).

Strikers: Kaddu Patrick (KCCA), Sserunkuma Daniel (Vipers SC), Senkatuka Nelson (Bright Stars) and Odong Johnson (Police).
