Miracle Ravens have increased their survival chances in the women’s division of the Tusker Lite National Basketball League (NBL) after picking a slim 47-45 victory over Magic Stormers on Sunday at the MTN Arena, Lugogo in Kampala.
Miracle’s Barbara Namuwaya stood out as she posted a double double of 15 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists to guide her side to victory. She was named Tusker Lite player of the game.
Shillah Lamunu on the other hand turned up with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists but it wasn’t enough to seal a win for Magic Stormers who were only short by just two minutes.
Other top performers for Miracle included Akello Winifred with 13 points and 8 rebounds and Lillian Cherotich with 4 points, 16 rebounds and 1 assist.
Berina Namwenge was another stand out player for Magic Stormers, shooting 7 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists.
Miracle remain seventh on the 10-team women’s division table with 17 points after 12 games whilst Magic Stormers remain fifth with 19 points after 13 games.
The Tusker Lite National Basketball League returns midweek (ladies night on Wednesday) at Lugogo with two games on the card.
