Our Savior delivered a stunner on Sunday when they beat giants Uganda Christian University (UCU) Canons 61-52 in their Tusker Lite National Basketball League (NBL) encounter at the YMCA basketball court in Wandegeya, Kampala.
It was UCU ‘s fourth loss of the season after 18 games as Our Saviour picked their seventh win of the season from 17 outings.
Moses Mugisha was one of the standout players for Our Saviour shooting 15 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. He played for 33:25 minutes.
Steven Wokorach shot 11 points and 3 rebounds, Ruot Tut Yat Tiem had 10 points, 7 rebounds and 1, Elton Donald Bakara had 10 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assist while Joseph Wacha managed 7 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists.
In a losing effort, Titus Lual led UCU Canons shooting 15 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. He played for 34:13 minutes.
Despite the loss, UCU Canons still lead the 13-team men’s top tier division table with 32 points after 18 games (14 wins and 4 losses).
Our Savior on the other hand are ninth on the table with 24 points off seven wins and 10 losses.
The Tusker Lite National Basketball League returns on Wednesday (ladies night) at Lugogo with two games on the card. Our Savior will return to action when they take on Ndejje Angels just after A1 Challenge plays JKL Lady Dolphins.
