(NBL, FUBA) The UCU Lady Canons returned to winning ways after cruising past Magic Stormers, 52-75 in the opener of game week 7 of the National Basketball League (NBL) on Wednesday.

The Magic Stormers were down 11 at the end of the third quarter and they piled pressure on the Lady Canons cutting the deficit to 5 half way the final quarter.

However, the Lady Canons engaged another gear scoring 19 points compared to Magic’s 1 in the final 4 minutes of the game.

Tracy Namugosa recorded her first double double, leading scores (17 points) and rebounds (11). Sylivia Nantongo had a spectacular game with 14 points on 70% FG. Kur Ajah led the Magic Stormers with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks.

The JT Jaguars snapped their 3 game losing streak after overcoming Power in a hotly contested game that was decided in the final minute. The JT Jaguars managed to outscore power in the final quarter and that turned out to be the biggest difference, rendering them 75:70 winners over 8 man Power.

Samad Imran had 18 points in the first half and he kept Power afloat during that period, however, in the second, he scored just 3 points which affected Power offensively. Benjamin Shango scored 14 points plus 11 rebounds while Philip Ameny recorded yet another double-double, 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists.
