A group of four table tennis players from Ndejje University left for a seven-day week training camp in China.

This is another great opportunity offered by the Chinese Embassy following another last year when again three of our players were taken for a three-week physical education course.

The players that traveled earlier this week are Karamagi Steven, Mango Ronald, Namukasa Edith and Nabukwasi Norah.

All these players are on Table Tennis scholarship at Ndejje University. These scholarships where secured with the help of our General Secretary Andira Ronald, who is also the Table Tennis coach for Ndejje University.

“We are very happy with such opportunities availed to our players and we thank all the parties involved in this very welcome Gesture by our friends at the Chinese Embassy. Our sincere thanks to our General Secretary, Andira and to Ndejje University for providing our players with free educational scholarships that have lead to opportunities such as this,” noted Robert Jaggwe, the table tennis association president.

This trip is of an extreme significance to the players travelling since none of them had traveled abroad before by air.

“We are very happy for them that the table tennis sport and their commendable talent are the reasons that they get to fly out of Uganda for the first time. We are so happy that our Sport is opening up such opportunities for our players. We wish the team a very successful training in China,” added Jaggwe.
