Olila face Tornado Bees as JACC host Africa CC in Cricket Uganda Women’s T20 League

The 2026 Cricket Uganda (CU) Women’s T20 National League continues on Saturday, 4 July, with two intriguing fixtures across both divisions as defending champions Olila Cricket Club return to action while Division Two gets underway in Jinja.

In Division One, Olila CC will take on Tornado Bees at Florida Oval, while JACC welcome Africa Cricket Club (ACC) to Jinja Oval for the opening Division Two fixture of the season.

Olila head into Saturday’s encounter in high spirits following their victory over Soroti City in last weekend’s Soroti Derby. The defending champions have also been buoyed by the outstanding form of Malisa Ariokot, who currently leads the Division One batting charts with 212 runs and is fresh from an impressive half-century.

Tornado Bees, meanwhile, are still searching for their first win of the campaign after suffering defeat to Jinja SSS on Day Two.

The two sides last met in the 2025 Lyca Women’s T20 semifinal, where Olila produced a commanding all-round display to secure a 59-run victory and book a place in the final.

Batting first, Olila posted 119 for 4 from their 20 overs, with Esther Iloku top-scoring with 40 off 45 deliveries, while Phiona Egaru Kulume added 30 from 29 balls. Ann Nyapendi was the standout performer for Tornado Bees with impressive figures of 3 for 12.

Olila’s bowlers then dominated the chase as Devine Gabriella Nyamer claimed superb figures of 4 for 9, supported by Lorna Anyait, who picked up two wickets, dismissing Tornado Bees for just 60 in 18.3 overs.

While Olila will be favourites to extend their winning run, Tornado Bees will be determined to put last season’s semifinal disappointment behind them and register their first victory of the new campaign.

The Division Two season opens with JACC hosting Africa Cricket Club in a fixture that revisits a familiar rivalry from last season.

JACC enjoyed the upper hand in their previous meetings. In the completed morning fixture, they posted 69 for 3 in 12 overs, led by Lamara Prudence’s 26 and Immaculate Nakisuuyi’s 18.

Nakisuuyi later starred with the ball, returning figures of 2 for 4, while Kamatenesi Patricia and Mirembe Lydia also claimed two wickets each as Africa CC were restricted to 20 for 6, handing JACC a convincing 49-run victory.

Their second meeting was evenly balanced before rain intervened. JACC had reached 47 for 2 after 9.2 overs, with Nakisuuyi unbeaten on 19, before persistent showers forced the match to be abandoned.

JACC begin the new Division Two campaign without all-rounder Ruth Mwanga, who has since joined Nile Cricket Club. However, they retain experienced performers in Immaculate Nakisuuyi and Kevin Awino, who are expected to play leading roles with both bat and ball.

Africa CC will be aiming for a fresh start after last season’s setbacks and will be boosted by the expected availability of Sarah Walaza as they look to challenge for early points.

With valuable points on offer across both divisions, Saturday’s matches could play an important role in shaping the early standings.

Olila will be looking to reinforce their status as Division One title favourites, Tornado Bees are chasing a breakthrough victory, while JACC and Africa CC begin their Division Two campaigns with ambitions of building early momentum.
