Olila High among standout performers on day three of Girls Schools Cricket Week

Day three of the 2024 Sky View Girls Schools Cricket Week in Soroti brought more thrills as Olila High School maintained their winning strea in the tournament.

In an afternoon clash, Olila High showcased their cricket prowess as they secured a resounding victory over Iganga SSS in a thrilling match. With a formidable total of 132 runs for the loss of 7 wickets, Olila High dominated the game from the start.

Iganga SSS, in response, struggled to chase the target, managing only 43 runs for the loss of 5 wickets, falling short by 89 runs. This decisive win further solidifies Olila High’s position as a top contender in the Girls Schools Cricket Week tournament, demonstrating their determination and skill on the field.

In the morning matches, Jinja SS showed their strength by scoring 200 runs against Good Heart SSS, winning by 137 runs. Kilembe SS narrowly defeated Ndejje SS by just 3 runs in a close match.

At Teso College Ground 2, Light SS won against Sacred Heart SS by 5 wickets, while Masaka SSS secured a 48-run victory over Iganga SSS.

In a nail-biting match at Madera, Gayaza High School secured their first win of the tournament, defeating Mukono Kings by 5 wickets. The afternoon saw St Mary’s Girls Madera clinch a victory against Mukono Kings.

Notably, Masaka SS standout Mbwali Naume scored an impressive 90 runs off 44 balls, leading her team to victory against St James SS.

Looking ahead to Match Day 4, fans can expect more exciting matches as the tournament continues.

  • SCA Ground: St James SS v Good Heart SS
  • Madera: Kilembe SS v Kasese SS
  • Teso College Ground 1: Iganga SS v Jinja SS
  • Teso College Ground 2: Masaka SS v Olila High School
  • Father Hilders: St Mary’s Girls Madera v Gayaza High School

Afternoon:

  • SCA Ground: Jinja SS v St John’s Mukono
  • Madera: Mukono Kings v Ndejje SS
  • Teso College Ground 1: Masindi SS v Olila High School
  • Teso College Ground 2: Kasese SS v Light SS
