On New Year Eve, FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel, FUFA Investigations Chamber and FUFA Referees Disciplinary Panel in a statement among others deducted two points and two goals off Onduparaka FC following violent scenes exhibited by the home fans during their side’s Uganda Premier League clash against KCCA FC on December 27 2021 at the Green Light Stadium, Arua.

The same missive said that the match that was abandoned when it was 2-2 be replayed in a neutral ground and organized by Onduparaka. Centre Referee Madanda has been suspended from officiating football at all levels until 30th June 2022 for unjustified poor officiation with some Onduparaka officials and players also facing the same fate.

However, Onduparaka is happy with the verdict and have welcomed it, though KCCA expressed their disappointment in the same.

“Onduparaka Football Club welcomes the ruling of FUFA Disciplinary Panel on 31st December 2021 pertaining to events that transpired on Match Day 13 at the Ababet Greenlight Stadium. Whereas the club has lost 2 valuable points, 2 goals, services of its core player Okocha Rashid and the club C.E.O, we believe the decision was fair, inclusive and considerate of the evidence provided by match officials, the two clubs and well-wishers in football,” a club missive released on Monday read.

However, Onduparaka are keen on ensuring that the violent acts won’t happen again in the future and urged all the stake holders to protect the image of the game.

“…Onduparaka FC and other clubs must partner if we are to have any chance in protecting the integrity of fair competition. This partnership allows Onduparaka FC, in harmony with other clubs and the Federation, to run a holistic anti-hooliganism and fair officiation campaign focused on prevention, education, investigation and enforcement.”

However, Onduparaka adds that the Arua incidents were a protest against poor match officiation and alleged match fixing but not against KCCA as a club.
