The Uganda Ladies Golf Union (ULGU), an affiliate of the Uganda Golf Union, has officially flagged off the Uganda National Ladies Golf Team set to represent the country at the East & Central Africa All-Africa Challenge Trophy (EACAACT) 2025 edition, scheduled for 20th–25th October at the Great Rift Valley Lodge & Golf Resort in Naivasha, Kenya.

The EACAACT is the region’s premier women’s amateur golf championship, established in 2013 as a regional extension of the All-Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT)—Africa’s flagship women’s amateur golf event governed by the Ladies Golf Union of Africa (LGU-Africa). The tournament brings together the best female golfers from countries including Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Zambia, Madagascar, and Reunion, promoting regional competition, friendship, and the advancement of women’s golf.
Uganda’s three-lady national team was selected based on national order-of-merit rankings and will be led by Coach Flavia Namakula.
The squad includes:
Peace Kabasweka – Team Captain
Meron Kyomugisha
Keisha Kagoro – Junior Representative
Coach: Flavia Namakula
Team Manager: Charity Atuhaire, supported by Paul Habyarimana
The team will depart for Kenya on October 18, 2025, aboard Uganda Airlines, proudly flying the national flag and carrying the hopes of Uganda’s growing women’s golf community.
The championship will be contested over 54 holes of stroke play across three days. Each day, the two best scores from the three players will count toward the team’s total, with the lowest cumulative score determining the overall winning nation. Individual awards will also be given for Best Gross and Best Nett performances.
Beyond competition, the EACAACT continues to play a vital role in:
Raising the competitive standards of women’s golf in the region
Preparing players for continental and global representation
Strengthening regional cooperation
Promoting tourism in the host country.
The team is supported by: Uganda Golf Union, National Council of Sports, The R&A, Uganda Airlines, Stanbic Bank, Neptune, and Challengers.
