Peace Proscovia happy with Successful Knee Surgery

Sunshine Coast Lightning vs Firebirds

Uganda national netball team (She Cranes) captain and Sunshine coast Lightening  netball player Peace Proscovia had a successfully knee surgery on Tuesday that left her out of the forthcoming African Netball Championship which throws off later this month in Cape Town, South Africa.

Proscovia was a key player when Uganda lifted the 2017 and 2018 African Netball Championships hosted in Kampala and Lusaka respectively.

It’s obviously going to be a tall order when the unit which started training last month starts their title defence without the reliable skipper. The lanky shooter told Pepper Sport on the progress of her injury –confirming that she is recovering from a niggling knee and responding to medication well as she is supported by crutches.

“I will be unable to join the rest of the side as I am undergoing treatment of my knee,” said Peace. She joins her vice-captain Lilian Ajio who is also nursing a knee injury that has also cost her club Prison netball team.

Prisons lost two league matches on Saturday at Namboole against UPDF and KCCA.

Jesca Achan, Stella Nanfuka, Mary Nubba and Stella Oyella will have to dig deeper to fill Lilian Ajio and Peace Proscovia’s void. Meanwhile, Uganda national netball technical team has dropped nine players out of the 21 summoned earlier.

Norah Lukuuse, Brenda Namubiru, SebiNusura, Betty Kizza, Betty Namukasa, Meeme Ruth, Rachael Nanyonga, Enid Abalo and TausiMumena.

Uganda is pitted against Zimbabwe, Kenya and Tanzania in pool B for the continental showpiece while Africa’s number one and hosts South Africa find themselves drawn in pool A along with Malawi, Zambia, Lesotho and Tanzania
