Uganda Premier League side Police FC have secured the services of midfielder Arnold Ssembuya on a three-year deal. Ssembuya, 22 joins the ‘Cops’ from fellow armed forces side UPDF FC, who featured on the FUFA Big League last season but now qualified for the top tier league.

Ssembuya becomes Police’s seventh signing of the transfer window following earlier arrivals of Tonny Mawejje, Muhamood Hassan, Muwadda Mawejje, Eric Ssenjobe, Tom Ikara and Sammon Oloka.

Ssembuya now delights in joining the side and has promised to put in the work to help the club achieve its goals.

“I feel good joining Police FC,” Ssembuya told the club media adding that; “I am promising to work hard to help the team achieve the best. It is just a matter of time as we wait for the league to resume, they will see good results.”
Ssembuya was key in UPDF’s campaign in the second tier league (FUFA Big League) last season and his efforts ensured that the team earned promotion back to the Premier League.

Club CEO Fahad Lumu is optimistic that Ssembuya is a big addition to the team and hopes that he will be instrumental in the club’s attempt to rebuild.

“He is an experienced player who played in Masaza Cup. We hope he will help us revamp and boost our team as we had promised our fans,” Lumu said.

In a bid to improve on squad depth, the club have also extended the contracts of some players including; Joseph Sentume, Johnson Odong, Denis Rukundo, Yusuf Ssozi, Bashir Kabuye, Mubarak Nsubuga, Emmanuel Kiryowa and Musa Matovu.
