The Red Pepper publication will be the team to beat as the fifth edition of FUFA Corporate tournament returns bigger and better. Preparations for the 2019 edition are already in high gear with several teams from corporate organisations already confirming participation. Running under the theme: ‘Fun, networking and soccer’, the main objective of the annual tournament is bringing together various companies in one place. According to FUFA Marketing director, Esther Musoke, the past four editions have yielded dividends in terms of helping the various companies put out their brands. “Whereas it is a chance for people to play soccer and have fun, the most important aspect is that many companies converge in one place and have their brands known. This tournament is a signature brand aimed to draw the corporate world for opportunities to make an impact in Ugandan football,” she noted. Musoke revealed that 21 teams have so far registered and confirmed their participation in the 2019 competition including Uganda Cranes main sponsors Airtel, Ecobank, BIDCO, Nile Special, National Insurance Corporation (NIC) and Bet Lion. The others include; defending champions- Red Pepper, Diamond Trust Bank, National Water and Sewerage Corporation, Sanyuka TV, FUFA FM, Uganda Premier League secretariat, AALS, UMEME, Roke Telecom, SOGEA, Post Bank, Sadolin Paints, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Kyagalanyi Coffee Limited. Registration to take part in the 2019 FUFA Corporate Tournament is still open at FUFA House, Mengo up to 15th April at a cost of two million shillings only. The winner will walk away with a trophy and cash prize of Shs3m. To win last year’s trophy, Red Pepper Publications defeated SSL Logistics at Kampala International Schools Uganda (KISU).
