The two sides are set to clash on the coming Wednesday in the second round fixture of the StarTimes Uganda premier league. According to sources, the tie will be either played at Bombo or Luzira prisons. Meanwhile SC Villa, Maroons and last year’s losing finalists Bright Stars were the premier league sides that progressed to the next of the 46th Stanbic Uganda Cup after the Round of 64 matches played on Thursday across five different venues in the country.

SC Villa goal keeper Saidi Keni

SC Villa defeated Northern region side Supers Eagles 4-1 at the Pece War Memorial Stadium in Gulu. David Owori, Bashir Mutanda, Ronald Magwali and Abdallah Salim scored the goals for the 9-time champions. James Angu’s 19th minute goal was enough for Bright Stars go past Koboko Rising Stars 1-0 at the Nyarilo ground in Koboko.

Maroons overcame Young Elephants 4-1 in post-match penalties at the Olwio St Mark Ground in Nwoya district. Normal time of this match had ended goal-less. StarTimes FUFA Big league sides Kitara and Kiboga Young also advanced to the next round.

Kitara ejected Six O’clock 4-2 in post match penalties after 1 all in normal time at the Kizinda play ground in Western Uganda. Kiboga Young on road eliminated Ggaba 3-1 in post-match penalties after goalless normal time draw at the Buziga Islamic play-ground in Kampala.

The Uganda Cup tournament champion earns a ticket to play at the CAF Confederations Cup in the subsequent season. Proline are the defending champions of this Stanbic bank sponsored knockout tournament.
