Onduparaka 1-3 SC Villa

Not the result one would have predicted! SC Villa grabbed their second win from Onduparaka’s Green Light stadium after a 3-1 win on a chilly Monday in the match day 15 of the StarTimes Uganda premier league.

Emanuel Kalyowa with his 5th of the campaign off Derrick Ndahiro cross from the left, Faisal Muwawu’s second of the season off Ambrose Kirya’s inviting cross from the right and substitute Fahad Badilo with his first of the season after a miscommunication in Onduparaka defense between center back Dudu Ramathan and goalkeeper Wasswa Yusuf secured the Jogoos maximum points.

The hosts were dominant in both halves but failed to compose themselves in the final third and most of the chances went begging.

SC Villa were denied by the post and cross bar and Said Keni was called on twice to the visitors’ rescue. Julius Malingumu’s 5th of the season only proved a consolation as the Caterpillars completed their first round fixtures.  SC Villa were the first side to hand Onduparaka first loss at home –as the 1-0 win early last year ended their 4-year unbeaten run.

SC Villa remain 3rd with victory with 27 points in 14 games and will play KCCA in their last first round fixture while Onduparaka who suffered second home loss this season remained 4th with 23 points in 15 games.

Last season’s corresponding fixture ended 2-1 in favor of the hosts as the Caterpillars completed a first ever double against Jogoos. Captain (then) Rashid Toha with the fastest goal of the season gave a 1-0 away victory to Onduparaka from a free kick at Namboole stadium in the first round.
