Pepsi University Football League
Quarter Finals, Second Leg
Friday result
YMCA 0 vs 2 St. Lawrence (0-4)
St Lawrence University (SLAU) made it to the semi finals of this year’s Pepsi University football league after their 4-0 aggregate win at YMCA Comprehensive at the quarter finals. SLAU were 2-0 away winners in the return leg on Friday after beating YMCA by similar score in the first leg.
Collins Seruwu through a direct corner kick gave the visitors lead from a corner in the 40th minute before Umar Kayemba sealed victory three minutes after restart.
YMCA Comprehensive Institute captain Mutyaba Twaha had expressed confidence that they would overturn a two-goal first leg deficit but it was his St. Lawrence colleague Kasule Ibrahim to celebrate after the two legs.
St. Lawrence edged YMCA 3-2 on aggregate at this stage last season to progress to the semi-finals before eventually finishing in third place.
SLAU joins Uganda Martyrs University that ejected two-time champions MUBS earlier on 2-0 aggregate.
