South African teams (boys and girls) are seemingly running away with the All Africa Junior Team Championship titles after posting impressive leads just after two rounds of the competition that enters it’s second last day on Wednesday at Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa, Kigo.
South Africa’s boys’ team are currently 41 strokes ahead of second placed Egypt whilst in the girls’ category South Africa lead runners up Zimbabwe by 27 strokes.
South Africa’s boys’ team have a team gross score of 426 with Egypt coming next with 467. Their girls’ team have a team gross score of 293 with followers Zimbabwe having 320.
Jack Buchanan led South Africa’s boys’ team on Tuesday shooting an impressive 3-under par 69. He even had a hole-in-one in the 11th hole. He now has a total gross score of 2-under par 142 for he shot 73 in the opening round.
South Africa’s Keagan Crosbie who led the entire boys’ pack in the opening round with 1-under par 71 had 2-under par 70 on Tuesday and he together with Buchanan are currently the best two boys in the tournament.
Amilkar Bhana also had 2-under par 70 for South Africa boys on Tuesday, a huge improvement from his 6-over par 78 on Monday, a score that implied that his score wasn’t considered that day. The best 3 scores per day count for the boys and the best 2 scores per day count for the girls. Jaden Deltel score wasn’t considered on Tuesday after he shot 73, the same score he posted in the opening round.
Meanwhile, hosts Uganda are third in the boys’ category with a team gross score of 472. Juma Abiti had the best score on Tuesday with 78, the same score he returned in the opening round.
Meanwhile, Kyra van Kan still leads the South African girls team. She shot 69 on Tuesday, a two shot improvement from her 71 score in the opening round. Jasmine Furstenburg is the second best South African girl with 77, 76 supported by Zane Kleynhans with 78, 82 though her scores are yet to be considered.
Kenya’s girls team are third with a team score of 336 while hosts Uganda are fourth with 340. Frista Birabwa is so far the best Ugandan girl with 86, 82.

The All Africa Junior Team Championship is one of the premier events on the African continent’s annual schedule, as it serves as the African Qualifier for the prestigious Toyota Junior Golf World Cup, which will be held later this year in Japan.
