After finishing the 2019 National rally calendar in the third, Ronald Ssebuguzi seeks a winning end to the year when he takes part in this year’s FMU Boxing Day sprint at the Busiika race track on December 26.

This is the last event on the FMU calendar driver in two-wheel drive and clubman championship will be battling out as well as drivers contending for this year’s Circuit championship.

Arthur Blick and Christakis Fidis are leading and second in the sprint championship standings respectively which makes this year ending event a must attend. Ssebugizi, who is bankrolled by Shell V-Power and navigator Leon Ssenyange managed to win once, finished second, third and fourth respectively.

“We did not perform to expectation but at least we finished at the podium. Next year, we shall try to take the NRC title but we must end on the high with the Boxing Day championship event so that we can enjoy that winner’s bull together with our fans,” noted Ssebuguzi – a two time NRC winner.

While launching the event last Tuesday, Ahmed Ssemwanga, the Clerk of the course for this Boxing Day sprint, said that the circuit will have a total of 5.2kms with lane A having for 2.47kms wile lane B has 2.38kms.

“We are almost 80% ready because the route has been changed for more excitement. We expect every driver to take part and the winner has a bull at stake,” he noted.

Earnest Zziwa, the FMU Assistant General Secretary warned fans of safety –saying that they should always keep away from the route.
