St Mary’s Kitende defends Kabaka Cup title

The 2019 Buganda kingdom schools sports climaxed last Friday at the Namboole stadium with power house St Mary’s SS, Kitende beating Uganda Martyrs High school, Lubaga 1-0 in the final to defend the secondary schools Boys football (Kabaka Cup) title.

Charles Lwanga scored the only goal of the day in stoppage time as the Copa Coca-Cola reigning champions retained the title they won last year with victory over St Julian high school, Gayaza.

In the Girls category, Gaddafi Integrated beat Kawempe Muslim B to claim honors. The schools also competed in netball, woodball and volleyball.

National Council of Sports (NCS) Assistant General Secretary David Katende and Hajj Sulaiman Magala from Buganda kingdom graced the final day.

Netball (Nabagereka cup)

U14- St Gemma Kyotera

U16- Ray’s of Grace Buikwe

Secondary (Senior)- Buddo SS

Volleyball:

Primary (boys)- St James

Primary (Girls)- Sunrise primary school Matugga

Secondary (Boys)- Mbogo Mixed SS

Basketball:

Boys – Buddo SS

Girls – St Noa Girls Zana

Woodball:

Primary Boys- Nalinya Lwantale P/S

Primary girls- Ahmaddiya Muslim p/s
Secondary boys- Luzira SS
