Standard Chartered Bank in partnership with Uganda Sports Press Association (FUFA) under the 2019 Road Safety Campaign have given a face-lift to Mulago Casualty ward.
The two partners in conjunction with Mulago Hospital have painted the Mulago casualty ward at a cost of Shs18m.
The Casualty ward painting is one of the week-long Road Safety campaign initiatives organised by the sports journalists in memory of their colleagues who perished in a road accident in 2001.
Regina Mukiri, the Head of Corporate Affairs Brand and Marketing Standard Chartered Bank stated that the bank encourages employees to help their local communities develop, as part of the Bank’s overall sustainability strategy.
“As a Bank we are very happy to partner with USPA to paint the Mulago casualty ward as part of the 2019 Road Safety campaign initiative. I also want to appreciate Mulago Hospital for supporting us implement this initiative. A much-needed wakeup call is needed to curb road carnage. The painting is just a drop in the ocean as there are so many other requirements. I call upon other organizations to support Mulago Hospital andto fight road carnage,” she noted.
The USPA president Patrick Kanyomozi expressed gratitude to Standard Chartered Bank, Mulago Hospital and the employees of the Bank who came out to volunteer and participate in the painting for their generosity.
