Standard Chartered bank trophy returns with 34 teams

The fifth edition of the Standard Chartered Bank trophy is underway this Saturday Namboole Stadium.

Thirty four (34) teams were drawn in eight groups on Wednesday with last year’s champions CIPLA deciding not to take part. The winners will get an opportunity to attend a Liverpool Premier League match this August with VIP treatment.

Standard Chartered bank CEO Albert Saltson said that teams will assemble 7 players for this 5-aside game for 10 minutes (with 2 substitutes).

The top two teams in each group will advance to the round of 16, quarters, semi finals and finals respectively.

The Draws:

Group A: Uganda Baati, African Queen LTD, Sanlam Insurance, Bukedde

Group B: Toyota Uganda B, Uganda Batteries, Sheraton Hotel, NTV

Group C: Malaria Consortium, NWSC, Roofings rolling mills, CAA (A)

Group D: Harris International, Royalway media, Seroma LTD, NSSF

Group E: Sports Outreach, Hardware World, Monitor Publications, Airtel Uganda

Group F: Mengo Hospital, Toyota Uganda A, MTN Uganda, Roofings LTD

Group G: Jesa Diary Farm, Century Bottling (A), Jubilee insurance, Uganda Breweries

Group H: New Vision, Lesotho, City Oil Uganda, Civil Aviation B
