Tanzania U-19 secured a three-wicket victory over Uganda U-19 in the opening match of the U-19 Boys Easter Series (50 overs) on Matchday 1.
Batting first, Uganda U-19 posted 160 all out in 34.2 overs, with Ochen Peter top-scoring with 47 runs, while Christopher Kidega added 32.
Tanzania’s bowlers were up to the task, with Khalidy Amiri claiming 3/22 and Augustine Meya taking 2/23.
In response, Tanzania U-19 chased down the target in 39.1 overs, reaching 164/7.
Mohamed Simba played a crucial knock, finishing unbeaten on 41, while Dylan Manish contributed 30 runs.
Uganda’s Balidawa Ali (3/27) and Nyiiro Jonathan (2/18) put up a fight, but Tanzania held their nerve to seal the win.
