The Federation of Uganda Football Associations has confirmed the final travelling squad for the Uganda U-17 Women’s National Team, popularly known as the Teen Cranes, ahead of their upcoming clash against Zimbabwe in the African qualifiers for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2026.
Head coach Sheryl Ulanda Botes selected her squad following an intensive training camp, with the team scheduled to face Zimbabwe in the first leg on Sunday, April 12, 2026. The match will take place at Ngoni Stadium in Harare, kicking off at 3:00 PM local time (4:00 PM EAT).
The team wrapped up preparations with a final training session at FUFA Stadium in Kadiba before departing for Zimbabwe. The delegation will be led by FUFA Executive Committee member Agnes Mugena.
Speaking ahead of the trip, Coach Botes expressed optimism about her squad’s readiness after 11 days of focused training at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru. She emphasized the team’s preparedness and determination despite acknowledging the strength of their opponents.
“The camp has helped us build a strong and competitive team. Zimbabwe is a solid side based on their COSAFA Cup performances, but our goal is to secure a positive result away from home,” she noted.
