Both hosts Tooro United and visiting Onduparaka could not raise maximum player licenses for the match day 16 at the St Paul seminary in Fort Portal.

Tooro United had only six player licenses while Onduparaka had only seven despite travelling with a full squad. The game could not be honored because the hosts failed to produce the minimum seven players’ licenses to kick off as per FIFA rules.

Spelito Ssesanga handshakes with Smart Obed as former CEO Tusiime looks on

Only That Willy Kavuma, Charles Musiige, Isa Mubiru, Denis Mugerwa and John Byamukama Toki were legible to play for the hosting side. Despite also being imperfect, Onduparaka under interim coach Simeon Masaba, are destined to get three points and goals by forfeiture which will move them to 26 points while Tooro United are bound to lose six points and goals from the already accumulated which highly risks them to relagation.

The Caterpillars also got 3 points and goals at Police in similar style after Police failed to turn up for the first round fixture. Onduparaka beat Tooro United 3-0 in the reverse fixture this season in Arua –a game that saw coach Wasswa Bbosa throw in towel as Tooro United coach for his assistant Eric Ndifuna to take charge to date. Both Tooro United and Onduparaka are financially doing badly; with players going months without payment.

Tooro United players went on strike

A day to the game, Tooro United players petitioned FUFA asking to know who the club owner was to demand their arrears, and over 10 starters did not travel for Onduparaka match in protest of nonpayment. FUFA clarified that Smart (Obed) Obediah has 59% of the club shares while Sipelito Ssesanga has 49%.

FUFA, through CEO Edgar Watson also extended 48 hours to Tooro United to present defense in line with players’ concerns.
