Two-shot advantage for Kabasweka heading into final round of Entebbe Ladies Open

Toro club scratch lady golfer, Peace Kabasweka is still the frontrunner in the main event (Ladies Group A) of the 2024 Entebbe Ladies Open that winds down today at Entebbe Club.

After two rounds, Kabasweka who won the 2022 edition has a two-shot advantage as the tournament heads into its final round. She has a total gross score of 157 (15 over par) after shooting 83 (12 over par) in the Friday’s second round at Entebbe Club’s par-71 lakeside course.

Meron Kyomugisha is still the one closely following Kabasweka and she is just two strokes behind her and not three as it was the case in the opening round. She so far an overall 17 over par (159) having shot 11 over par (82) on Friday.

Judith Komugisha carded the best score of the main event’s second round (9 over par 80) and she’s still third with an overall score of 19 over par 161.

Harriet Kitaka is fourth off 163, Cathy Kwagala is fifth with 165 while Gloria Mbaguta is sixth with 167. In the seventh position is Resty the with 169, eighth position has Wendy Angudeyo with 173, a shot ahead of Dianah Nambalirwa and Bernadette Musanabera who tied for ninth.

In the men’s gross event, the pecking order changed after round two with Cosmas Ociti taking charge after shooting an impressive 2 under par on Friday. He had played level par in the opening round.

Emmanuel Moko has an overall level par after carding 3 under par 68 on Friday while day one leader Elton Thembo is third off an overall 1 over par after he carded 2 over par 73 on Friday.

The final round of the tournament is set to witness a full course because subsidiary players will also be in the mix while Ladies Group B action enters day two.

The event is powered by KCB Bank, Uganda Airlines, Crown Beverages Limited, Uganda Breweries Limited, MTN Uganda & Britam Insurance.
