U20 women’s football team starts preps for CECAFA

The Uganda U20 Women’s national football provisional squad has started training ahead of the CECAFA U20 Women’s Championship.

Uganda will host this year’s CECAFA U20 Women’s Championship at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru between 28th October and 10th November.

The team broke off on 9th October after eliminating Kenya from the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers with some of the players summoned to the Senior National Team (Crested Cranes).

Coach Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi has summoned a provisional squad of 30 players and it is here that the final squad will be named.

The core of the team that faced Kenya has been maintained, including striker Juliet Nalukenge who recently joined Apollon Ladies FC in Cyprus.
