The Uganda Cranes, the senior men’s national football team of Uganda, are eagerly awaiting the draw for the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations 2025 Qualifiers. The draw, scheduled for Thursday at 3:30 PM EAT in Johannesburg, South Africa, will reveal the opponents they will face in their quest to qualify for the tournament set to be held in Morocco.
The draw will feature 48 nations divided into twelve groups of four, mapping out the qualification pathway for AFCON 2025. The top two teams from each group will secure a spot in the final tournament. Of the 48 teams, 44 have entered directly, while the remaining four earned their places through preliminary round victories.
The teams are seeded into four pots of twelve, based on the latest FIFA World Rankings, ensuring that teams from the same pot cannot be drawn together in the same group. The Uganda Cranes are in Pot 2, alongside Cape Verde, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Zambia, Benin, Angola, Namibia, Mozambique, and Madagascar.
