Uganda Cricket Association has announced the list of contracted for the 2024 season. The idea of contracts was introduced in 2021 for the men and 2022 for the women.
The Cricket Cranes and Victoria Pearls have a very busy international calendar that includes the All of Africa Games for both squads, the Global T20 World Cup Qualifiers for the Victoria Pearls and T20 World Cup for the Cricket Cranes.
The contract list for the Victoria Pearls has been increased from 12 players to 14 players with Susan Kakai and Esther Iloku the new additions to the contracted list.
The Cricket Cranes contract list has 20 players with last season debutants Robinson Obuya and Nsubuga Sirajje rewarded for the great 2023 season.

The cricket association’s decision to continue granting contracts to both the men’s and women’s cricket teams is a welcome move, one that will bring financial stability and recognition to the national cricket heroes. It is hoped that this decision will encourage more girls to take up cricket and pave the way for greater gender equality in the sport.
