Uganda Golf Open: Kabasweka Maintains Two-stroke Lead Going Into Final Round

Event: Tusker Malt Uganda Open Golf Championship 2020

Duration: 26th November  – 6th December 2020.

Venue: Uganda Golf Club, Kitante

Schedule Of Events:
*Ladies Open: 26th to 28th November
*Amateur Gross: 1st to 4th December
*Amateur Subsidiary: 5th and 6th December
*Professionals: 3rd to 6th December

Tooro Club’s handicap 5 star Peace Kabasweka has maintained her two-stroke lead at the ladies event of the Tusker Malt Uganda Open Golf Championship 2020 that winds down this Saturday at Uganda Golf Club’s par-72 course in Kitante.

Kabasweka, who had 79 on day one managed a gross score of 77 on day two, totalling to 156 to keep her self in good position to claim her maiden championship with the ladies event of the championship marking its 70th staging.

“I feel happy to be in the lead for two days. I hope I will maintain my game and possibly win the championship on Saturday,” Kabasweka said after her round on Friday.

The pressure group that took shape after the Friday matchday draws will go into the event finale with leader Kabasweka, defending champion Martha Babirye and last year’s runner up Irene Nakalembe all in position to claim the title.

Babirye is second off two rounds with a total gross score of 158 (81,77), just a stroke better than Nakalembe who has 159 (81, 78).
The nearest to the podium is Uganda Ladies Golf Union President Evah O. Magala with a gross score of 162 going into the third and final round.

The tournament sponsors are; Tusker Malt Lager (main sponsor), Next Media, Master Power Systems, Stanbic Bank, Pinnacle Security, Crown Berger, Crown Beverages, Robert Ojara Education Foundation and Case Medcare (who will handle any COVID-19 issues and other health related matters).
