Uganda Rugby has officially announced that its 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will take place on May 1 at Hotel Africana in Kampala.
According to a press release issued on Tuesday, April 28, the annual meeting will be held in line with Article 10 of the Uganda Rugby Constitution and will focus on key organisational, structural and management matters within the sport.
The assembly is expected to receive and discuss various reports, including audited accounts and proposed budgets for the 2026 financial year, as Uganda Rugby continues to strengthen governance and operations.
Among the major items on the agenda will be the presentation of Uganda Rugby’s compliance status with the Sports Act 2023, Cap 151, as well as proposed constitutional amendments.
Delegates will also oversee the election of a second Women’s Representative and two Athletes’ Representatives, who will take seats directly on the Uganda Rugby Executive.
Uganda Rugby Hon. Secretary, Peter Odong, described the AGM as a vital platform for shaping the future of the game in the country.
“This Annual General Meeting stands as a cornerstone for the future of Uganda Rugby. It is here that we unite as a community—leaders, coaches, players and representatives—to chart bold strategies for talent development, infrastructure growth and international competitiveness,” Odong said.
“The decisions we make today will propel our players, competition and sustainability to new heights, fostering discipline, unity and pride across our nation. Let us seize this moment to build a legacy that inspires generations,” he added.
The AGM comes at a crucial time as Uganda Rugby seeks to align with national sports regulations while also positioning itself for greater competitiveness on the regional and international stage.
