Uganda’s U-19 cricket team bounced back in style, securing an 8-wicket win over Tanzania in the second match of the U-19 Boys Easter Series (50 overs), following a loss in the opening game.
Tanzania U-19, batting first, posted a total of 189 all out in 41.1 overs. Dylan Manish Tharkar was the standout performer with 73 runs off 77 balls, while Hamza Ally added 26 runs off 37 balls.
Uganda’s bowlers shone, with Musa Majid taking 3 wickets for 22 runs and Olipa Gerald claiming 2 wickets for 31 runs.
In response, Uganda U-19 chased down the target with ease, finishing on 190/2 in just 28 overs.
Olipa Gerald played a stellar innings, scoring an unbeaten 94 off 93 balls, while Christopher Kidega supported with a quickfire 79 not out off 56 balls.
Despite solid bowling performances from Tanzania’s Ally Hafidh Ally (1/33) and Hamza Ally Onai (1/39), Uganda clinched the win by 8 wickets.
